While Trish, Pia, and Abe were at an Advanced Level 2 Parelli Clinic in NH with David Lichman, Dan Langan took Bridget Bishop to theYESS show. Bridget had some good rounds in the Junior Special Hunters and an excellent round in the Novice Medal. Many thanks to Dan for stepping in for us!

June 10-11 Bobkat Stables (at Essex Fair Grounds)

Lucy Ring did a great job in her first show with SFF. She showed in the Short Stirrup classes, winning some third and fourth places. She had a great equitation U/S class and hunter O/F class. It was Lucy's first show jumping, and she did a great job with her pony, Dunn Talkin'! On Sunday, Sarah Ki Rice showed Sir Oliver in the Adult Amateur Hunters, the NEHC Adult Medal, and the HBO Adult Medal. It was their first show together and they had some great rounds. Look out for Sarah with her old junior equitation horse, El Nathan, for the rest of the summer!

June 24-25 Steeple Ridge

At Piaretta's first show of the season, she showed with Trish in the Special Hunters and did well despite time off after being sick. On Sunday, Bridget Bishop showed Etiquette in the Junior Special Hunters and Children's Equitation. She did well in both, but her best round on Etiquette was her Novice Medal. Bridget's pony Ginger Snap made a come-back after an injury last summer and showed in the pony jumpers, earning fourth place! Sarah Ki Rice rode El Nathan in the Adult Equitation and medals, winning several classes and coming in second in the NEHC medal. It's great to see such a great team back together!

June 27- July 1 Northeast Benefit Horse Show (Northampton, MA)

Northeast Benefit was full of rain! Kylie Kenney was supposed to show Flaming Image in the jumper ring, but switched to the Low Hunters and Special Hunters in the indoor ring due to bad footing and rain with two nice rounds. Kylie also had three excellent flat equitation classes on Piaretta. All of Trish and Pia's jumper classes got rained out! Depsite the bad weather and ring conditions, Kylie and Trish managed to have a great time and have some good rides.

July 14-16 GMHA Summer VHJA Hunter/Jumper show

GMHA was a great horseshow!! In an awesome Summerwood Farm reunion, Trish's trainer Judy Shailor returned to help with her daughter Sarah Ki Rice, and Ciara Stuart also came to show and help out. It was nice to have us together again! Sarah Ki Rice had an excellent show with El Nathan, winning the VHJA Adult Medal Friday as well as the NEHC Medal which unfortunatly had not filled. Sarah was second in the Adult Eq Over Fences Saturday and on Sunday put in a beautiful first round and test, winning the Ariat Adult Medal. Many thanks to Judy for helping Kylie get ready for her test while Trish was at the other ring with Bridget! Kylie also had an excellent round in the Low Jumper on Saturday. Unfortunatly, Kylie had to leave for a hockey camp on Sunday so she was unable to show, but Kylie improved in big leaps over her two days there. Pia is not an easy horse to ride, but Kylie did an excellent job. Kylie also showed Flaming Image in the Elementary Jumpers with two awesome rounds, coming out of the ring with big smiles!

Ciara Stuart showed on Saturday in the Adult Equitation with Bridget Bishop's horse Etiquette. Ciara hasn't shown outside of intercollegiate for two summers, but she did a great job on Etiquette in the over fences for his first time showing 3'. Ciara then had a gorgeous flat class on him in the Adult Equitation, winning fourth out of quite a big class.

Thanks to Trish's dad Pat (aka Fernando) for all of his help, as well as Trish's boyfriend Erik Hausler for his help grooming and his great videotaping. Trish's mom Cathy also took many great pictures, some of which will be posted soon on the website.

Summerfield Farm and Summerwood Farm's hearts go out to Ciara Stuart, her mother Deb, and her brother Ben, after the sudden, tragic loss of her father, Joe Stuart on July 8. Joe used to travel to all the shows with us and help Ciara and the rest of us by grooming and sharing his sense of humor and big heart. He was a great friend of all of ours, including Judy and Pat. He will stay in our hearts forever and will be missed dearly.

Bridget and Lucy Ring had a great time watching the Level 5 and higher jumpers and learned a lot watching the USET and other Medal classes. Sarah Ki Rice had to cancel showing this week, but watch out for her and El Nathan in Weeks four and five!

August 26-27 Steeple Ridge III

Bridget Bishop and Etiquette started the day out on Saturday in the Special Hunters. She had two nice rounds and a nice flat. She then went on to do her first show at 2'9" in the Low Hunters with two very respectable rounds. Bridget got a fourth and a seventh place.

Trish Muskus rode Piaretta in the 2'9" Judged Warmup, coming in 2nd place. Apparently, Pia needed to go gallop a little longer and was a little too fresh in the low hunter rounds, but was fourth in the flat.

Val Campbell rode Pia after some much needed galloping ;) and did awesome! This was Val's first show with SFF and only her second time jumping Pia, and her fourth ever riding her. Val was fourth in the Adult Eq U/S and the over fences. Then she rode in the HBO Medal, and after a gorgeous round, was called back second right behind Sarah Ki Rice and El Nathan! Val had a nice test except for a rough halt, so she ended up in third place. Sarah won the class with a beautiful test. Val is on her way back to school in NH. After graduating with her nursing degree in spring of 2007, she plans on joining SFF again next summer and showing Piaretta, so watch for them next year!

September 9-10 Foxhorn Farm

Trish's dad, Pat Muskus, did the courses for Wanda at Foxhorn. They came out great and he got many compliments!
