Piaretta & Val Campbell August 2006 at Steeple Ridge Farm

 

May 12 Steeple Ridge Farm Schooling Show

Brianna Booska had her first horse show riding Flaming Image (Abe). She showed in the 2' division, with excellent rounds in the hunter over fences and the 2' medal classes. She came home with some ribbons and had a great show. Bridget Bishop and Etiquette started their year with the 2'6" warmup and equitation over fences classes, which both went well, and the 2'9"-3' Eq under saddle, which she was fourth in. A nice start to the year, girls!

May 19-20 GMHA Spring Show

Bridget Bishop and Etiquette showed on Sunday starting with the Low Mods. She had two good rounds and a great flat. Then she moved on to her first 3' class, the Children's Hunters, and won both her over fences classes and was fifth in the flat. She was the Children's Hunter Champion! Congratulations! Once we were done in the hunter ring, we moved on to the white ring for the Elementary Jumpers, where she had a beautiful round but was too slow to be in the ribbons. Great job, Bridget!

June 9-10 Summerfield Farm Horse Show! (Held at the Essex fair grounds.)

For the first show we've run, it went great! Thanks so much to everyone who came, and thank you especially to our secretary Winnie Lou Davis, our steward Kathy Kennett, our great announcer Mike Reno, and our fabulous gate keeper, Val Campbell.

Brianna Booska showed Flaming Image in the Children's Eq 2'-2'3" U/S and was third. There were 15 people in the class so this was a great ribbon! She also got third in the Hunter Pleasure Horse, and was fifth and sixth in the Pre-Childrens O/F and fifth in the Pre-Childrens U/Sdivision.

Sophia Comi and Julia Reno both had their first show. Sophia rode Scarlet Letter in the Beginners and did a great job. It was Scarlet's first show, too. Sophia was fourth in all of her classes. Julia rode Amazing Grace in Leadline and was third.

Trish rode Amazing Grace for Dana Reno in the Special Hunter U/S and Low Hunter U/S. Gracie was fifth in the Specials and won the Low Hunter. It was Gracie's first show in at least five years and she was great.

June 23-24 Steeple Ridge Farm I

The weather was beautiful Saturday at Steeple Ridge! Trish Muskus showed Amazing Grace for Dana Reno in the Special Hunter U/S and was 6th out of 12. They also showed in the Hunter Pleasure Horse, placing 7th, and in the Hunter Hack Horse, also placing 7th. Grace will have her first jumping show at GMHA. Watch for her in the Special Hunters.

Brianna Booska showed Flaming Image in the Hunter Hack Horse and placed 8th, and was 5th in the Hunter Hack. In the indoor ring, Brianna showed in the 2'-2'3" Children's Eq and was 6th in the U/S and 8th in the O/F. She also showed in the Pre-Childrens, placing 2nd and 4th in the O/F classes and 5th in the U/S.

Julia Reno showed Amazing Grace in the leadline class and placed 4th.

 

July 20-22 GMHA Summer Show

We had a great GMHA show! Bridget Bishop showed Piaretta in the Children's Eq 3'-3'3" and was 4th in the under saddle. She also showed in the M&S Children's Medal and was 5th out of 13, the Novice Eq Flat and was 5th out of 16, but her big ribbon was in the Novice Eq over fences- 2nd out of 21! GREAT job!!!

Brianna Booska showed Flaming Image in the Pre-Children's Hunters and was 8th in all three classes out of 14. She also showed in the Hunter Hack, which she was 8th in. In the Children's/Adult Low Modified Hunters, she was 8th again!

Amazing Grace and Trish Muskus showed in the Hunter Hack and Hunter Pleasure and was 5th in both. Then Trish took Gracie into her first jumping class in many years, and had a beautiful round in the Special Hunters, earning 8th out of 20! Julia Reno showed Amazing Grace in the leadline class and had a great time, and since she was the only one in it she was first.

Michaella Duffy showed her new horse, Unsolved Mystery, in the Advanced Beginners, and was third in all three classes. Bridget showed Unsolved Mystery in the Hunter Hack and was 7th.

July 28-29 Steeple Ridge Farm II

Saturday in the indoor ring, Julia Reno started out the day riding I Can't Believe He's Not Butter!, her new pony, for the first time in a show in leadline, and was 6th. Sophia Comi also rode I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in the Beginner Division and was 6th in the Equitation class and 8th in the Pleasure. Michaella Duffy showed her horse Unsolved Mystery in the Advanced Beginners and was 2nd in the Pleasure class, 5th in the Horsemanship, and 7th in the Equitation class. Outside, Trish Muskus rode Amazing Grace for Dana Reno in the Hunter Pleasure Horse, finishing 6th, and the Hunter Hack finishing 8th.

On Sunday, Bridget Bishop on Piaretta had a great day!!! In the VHJA Medal, Bridget was called back 1st for testing, and finished 3rd, and she was 6th in the 12-14 Eq. The BIG news of the day was when Bridget WON the NEHC Medal!! It was only her second time in the 3'3" class and she had a gorgeous round! Congrats!

August 25-26 Steeple Ridge III

What a great weekend! On Saturday, we once again started in the indoor with Julia Reno on the I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in the leadline, where she was great and came in 6th. Sophia Comi then took over Butter for the Beginners, and was 8th in the Pleasure. Michaella Duffy rode Unsolved Mystery in the Advanced Beginners, coming in 4th, 5th, and 6th in her classes.

Oustide on Saturday, Trish and Amazing Grace (owned by Dana Reno) showed in the Special Hunters with two great rounds, and were 7th on the flat. Brianna Booska and Flaming Image competed in the Hunter Pleasure and Hunter Hack, finishing . Bridget Bishop showed Unsolved Mystery for Michaella Duffy in the Hunter Pleasure, and was third out of a big class! Brianna Booska and Flaming Image were 8th in both the Hunter Hack and Hunter Pleasure.

Back inside, Brianna Booska showed Flaming Image in the Children's Eq 2'-2'3" and the Pre-Children's Hunters. Bridget Bishop showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! (owned by Dana Reno) in the Children's Hunter Pony division.

Valerie Campbell made a come-back after graduation from Colby-Sawyer and getting settled at her new job, and she showed Piaretta in the Adult Hunters, winning both over fences classes, and coming in third in the flat. They were the division champions! She also won the warmup before her hunter division.

On Sunday, Brianna Booska showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter (owned by Dana Reno) in the 11 & Under Eq, the Novice Medal which they finished 7th in, and in the Special Hunter Pony U/S and 4th in one of the O/F classes. Bridget Bishop started Piaretta in the 3' warmup, winning it against all the juniors and adults! Bridget went on to win the VHJA medal and was 2nd in the M&S Medal! She was also third in both 12-14 Eq. classes.

September 8-9 Fox Horn Farm

On Saturday, Julia Reno showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in the leadline and was 2nd! Her posting is getting so much better and it's paying off!

Sophia Comi showed in the beginner division on I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! Sophia was 6th in the equitation, 8th in the horsemanship, and 3rd in the pleasure. This was her best show so far, with the 3rd being her best ribbon ever! This divison was HUGE at this show! Congratulations!

Bridget Bishop showed Piaretta on Sunday in the pooring rain :( Entries were small, so she was 2nd in the Children's Eq U/S and won the John Corely.

Brianna Booska showed Flaming Image in the Pre-Childrens and was 6th in one of the O/F classes and 7th in the U/S. She was also 6th in the Children's Eq U/S.

September 22-23 GMHA Fall Show

Michaella Duffy rode Unsolved Mystery in the Advanced Beginner division, bringing home the reserve champion, with two 2nd places and a 3rd. She had a good show. Trish also showed Unsolved Mystery in the Special Hunters and Low Mods for his first time jumping at a hunter show.

Trish showed Amazing Grace in the Special Hunters, with a 6th over fences out of 22, and 4th over fences out of 24. Gracie was AWESOME! In the Hunter Pleasure, Gracie was 3rd, and in the Hunter Hack, she was 2nd. In the Low Modifieds, Trish and Gracie got two 2nd places over fences in their section of about 18 horses.

Bridget Bishop showed Piaretta in the Level 2 Jumpers (which replaced the Open Jumpers) and was 2nd in the first, and won the second class. She was 3rd in the John Corely, won the VHJA Medal, as well as the Children's Eq 3'-3'3" O/F and the U/S.

Bridget Bishop also showed Etiquette in the Children's Hunters, with a 1st and a 2nd over fences, and 3rd under saddle.

October 6-7 VHJA Finals at Wishful Thinking Farm

For the first time, VHJA ran the finals. A lot of people pitched in and helped, and everyone worked hard on the footing to improve it over the weekend. It was great to see such a good team effort.

Sophia Comi rode I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in the Beginner Division, with 2 5ths in the regular classes, and a 4th in the Final.

Michaella Duffy rode Unsolved Mystery in the Advanced Beginner Division, with a 4th and a 5th in the regular classes, and a 5th in the Final.

Valerie Campbell rode Amazing Grace in the Special Hunters and the 2'6" Final. She was 8th in one of the Special Hunter Classes O/F.

Bridget Bishop rode I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in the pony hunters, with a 6th in the under saddle, a 6th over fences, and a 2nd over fences.

Bridget Bishop showed Etiquette in the first low hunter class, with a 6th place. They also showed in the Children's Hunters, with a 6th and two 4ths. In the 3' Hunter Final, they finished in 3rd.

Valerie Campbell rode Piaretta in the first low hunter with a 3rd place. Then they showed in the Adult Hunters, with three 3rds. In the 3' Hunter Final, they placed 7th.

On Sunday, Bridget Bishop rode Piaretta in the Children' Eq 3'-3'3", with 3rd and 4th place. They showed in the VHJA Medal Final, winning 5th place. In the John Corely Final, they finished 7th.

October 25-28 NEHC Medal Finals

Bridget Bishop showed Piaretta at the last show of the season, and Pia's last before her foal comes in April. We wrapped up the show year well. All of Vermont was able to stable together, which was a lot of fun for the junior riders. Bridget's best round of the week was in the final on Sunday, in which she had a very respectable round. Pia doesn't love indoors but she was fabulous for Bridget and they looked great over a bigger, tough course. As our motto goes, "From Pigtails & Ponies to Hairnets & Horses," congrats on how far you have come, Bridget!

The 2007 Summerfield Farm Horse Show was voted the 2007 VHJA Best Horse Show of the Year by the VHJA membership at the banquet! Thanks to all who attended and voted for the show. See you at our 2008 show in June!

 

 

Congratulations to all VHJA riders, especially Summerfield's Bridget Bishop, Sophia Comi, Michaella Duffy, Julia Reno, and Valerie Campbell on a great show year.
