May 3 Steeple Ridge Schooling Show
At our first show of the year, we had two students show for their very first times! Morgan Bessette showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! and Katie O'Brien showed Caramel Crunch. Both had a very good show! Katie rode in Advanced Beginner, bringing home three 5th places. Morgan showed in Advanced Beginner also, bringing home three 4ths. Morgan then showed in X Rails. In the X Rail Equitation class, Morgan was 2nd out of 8! She had a great class! She also got ribbons in all the other X Rail classes. Michaella Duffy also showed Caramel Crunch. Michaella showed in the X Rail division. She finished with a 7th in the Hunter U/S, 8th in the Equitation Flat, 6th in the Hunter O/F, and a 2nd in the Equitation O/F! GREAT JOB EVERYONE!
May 17-18 GMHA Spring Show
Wow. What a good show for Michaella Duffy! Michaella showed Caramel Crunch. After much contemplation, Trish and Michaella decided to skip short stirrup this year and try the 2'-2'3" classes at GMHA. The results were worth the risk! On Saturday, Michaella showed in the Maiden Equitation U/S and placed 8th out of 12. In the hunter ring, Michaella showed in the Hunter Pleasure Pony and placed 6th. In the Pre-Children's Hunters, Michaella had very beautiful rounds, winning BOTH over fences classes, and 4th in the U/S, earning herself the CHAMPION for Pre-Children's!!!! Sunday, Michaella showed in Children's Eq 2'-2'3". In the O/F class, Michaella was 3rd, and in the U/S, she was 2nd in some stiff competition. Congratulations to Michaella and Caramel Crunch on their big championship, and for being brave enough to move up out of the short stirrup so quickly after showing in advanced beginner just last year!
June 7-8 Summerfield Farm Show
The Summerfield Farm Show was a success again! We had about 40 more entries than last year. While the weather was hot, everyone seemed to have a good time.
The first class of the show started out great for SFF! Katherine Lawton on Chance of Showers won the leadline class, and Kendra Murphy on I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! was 2nd!
In the Beginner Divison, Mikayla Combs Wilbur on Chance of Showers was 6th in the equitation, 6th in the Horsemanship, and 2nd in the Pleasure.
Sophia Comi showed in Advanced Beginners on I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! Sophia was 5th in the Advanced Beginner Equitation. In the Horsemanship class, Sophia was 6th. In the Pleasure, Sophia and Butter were 4th.
Katie O'Brien showed Caramel Crunch in the Advanced Beginners. In the Equitation, Katie was 3rd, and in Horsemanship, she was 5th. Theo was 3rd in the Pleasure class.
Morgan Bessette showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in Short Stirrup. She started out brilliantly, winning the Short Stirrup Equitation U/S! Morgan was also 5th in the SS Eq over fences, all the SS hunters, and the SS Medal.
Jenn Tucker showed Unsolved Mystery in Long Stirrup Hunter U/S, winning the class. She also won the Long Stirrup Equitation U/S, and was 7th in the Hunter Pleasure Horse.
Valerie Campbell showed Unsolved Mystery in the Modified Adult Eq and Special Hunters, bringing home a 7th in the Modified Adults and an 8th in the Special Hunters.
Amber Teague showed This Time Around, with a 6th in the VHJA Medal and in the John Corley Medal, and a 5th in the Children's Eq 3'-3'3".
Andrea Teague showed Just Do It! in the Low Hunters, with a 5th and 6th in the over fences classes and an 8th in the under saddle.
Michaella Duffy showed Caramel Crunch in the Children's Eq 2'-2'3", placing 8th in the undersaddle. In the Pre-childrens hunters, Michaella placed 6th in the over fences and 8th in the undersaddle.

June 21-22 Steeple Ridge I
Katherine Lawton made her debut in the Beginner Division at Steeple Ridge I! Katherine rode I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! In the Equitation and Pleasure classes, Katherine was 7th. Her best ribbon was in the trot poles class, where she got 4th.
Kendra Murphy rode I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in leadline, where she took her very first blue ribbon!
Morgan Bessette also showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in short stirrup. In the short stirrup equitation, Morgan was 3rd in the flat and 4th in the jumping. In the hunters, Morgan was 3rd and 5th over fences and 6th in the flat class.
Michaella Duffy rode Caramel Crunch in Children's Eq 2'-2'3", winning a 6th under saddle and an 8th over fences. In the Pre-Childrens Hunters, Michaella got two 5ths and a 4th.
Valerie Campbell rode Unsolved Mystery in the Modifed Adult Equitation division, with a very nice 2nd place in the flat class and a 4th and 5th in the over fences.
July 18-20 GMHA Summer Show
Minutes before leaving for GMHA, Trish badly sprained her ankle at the barn. She spent warm up day at the ER but came down that night. Trish spent the next 2 weeks on crutches!
Michaella Duffy showed Caramel Crunch in the Children's Eq 2'-2'3", getting an 8th on the flat and an 8th over fences.
Caitlin Schrack and Big Easy ("Beau") had their very first show at GMHA! Beau was 4th in his second Baby Green over fences class. In Young Hunters, Beau got a 5th and a 6th over fences, and a 7th undersaddle. Not bad for their first show!
July 26-27 Steeple Ridge II
At Steeple Ridge on Saturday, Suzy Bluett rode Senator in Special Hunters. Suzy was 3rd and 5th over fences, 8th on the flat, was 2nd in the Handy Hunter. Suzy rode in the Low Hunters, her first showing at the 2'9"-3', and was 1st in both over fences classes and was 1st in the Handy Hunter. Suzy and Senator were Champion of the Low Working Hunters.
Mikayla Combs-Wilbur showed Caramel Crunch in Beginners. Mikayla was 6th in the Equitation, 8th in Horsemanship, 7th in the Pleasure, and 5th in the Trot Poles.
Katherine Lawton showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter in Beginners. Katherine was 3rd in the Trot Poles.
Kendra Murphy showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter in Leadline, and was 2nd.
In Short Stirrup, Morgan Bessette showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter. Morgan was 6th in the equitation over fences, and 4th in the equitation under saddle. Butter got two 7ths in the Hunters over fences, and 5th in the undersaddle.
Michaella Duffy showed Caramel Crunch in the Hunter Pleasure Pony and was 7th, and in the Hunter Hack Pony was 3rd. In the Children's Eq 2'-2'3", Michaella was 6th on the flat and 8th over fences. In Pre-Children's Hunters, Michaella and Theo were 2nd and 7th over fences, and was 2nd in the undersaddle.
India Bluett showed Tennessee in the Hunter Hack Pony and was 8th and was 9th in the Hunter Hack Pony. India was 5th in the Children's Eq 2'-2'3" Flat and was also 5th and 3rd over fences. In Pre-Children's Hunters, India was 1st and 4th in the over fences and 5th on the flat. India was Pre-Children's Champion!
Katie O'Brien showed Caramel Crunch in Advanced Beginners. Katie won both the Equitation and Horsemanship classes, and was 3rd in the Pleasure. Katie was also 5th in the Equitation over fences. Katie was Advanced Beginner Champion.
Sophia Comi showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter in Advanced Beginners. Sophia was 5th in all three flat classes, and was 4th over fences.
August 6-10 Manchester
Michaella Duffy showed Caramel Crunch at a rainy Manchester. On Friday we finally got a break in the weather as Michaella showed in the Modified Children's Hunters with two very nice rounds and a good flat class. On Saturday, Michaella showed in 11 & Under Equitation, getting an 8th out of 24 in the over fences. On Sunday, Michaella managed to show before the down-pour of rain in the Maiden Eq division, getting a 3rd with a gorgeous round out of around 25. Despite the rain, we had a good time and came home with some great ribbons!
September 6-7 Steeple Ridge III & Equitation Finals
Piaretta's back!!!! Val Campbell showed Pia in the Special Hunters to get ready for GMHA and was 8th in the over fences.
Katherine Lawton showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter! in Beginners. Katherine was 7th in the equitation, 5th in Horsemanship, and got her first BLUE ribbon in the Pleasure. Katherine was also 4th in the Trot Poles and 10th in the Beginner Final.
Kendra Murphy showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter in Leadline and was 5th.
Katie O'Brien showed Caramel Crunch in Advanced Beginners. Katie was 4th in the Equitation, 6th in Horsemanship, and 3rd in Pleasure. Katie was 5th over fences, and 8th in the Advanced Beginner Final.
Sophia Comi showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter in Advanced Beginners and was 7th in the Equitation, 9th in the Horsemanship, and 2nd in Pleasure. Sophia got her first BLUE ribbon in the over fences and was 2nd in the Advanced Beginner Final with an awesome first round and test!
Morgan Bessette showed I Can't Believe He's Not Butter in short stirrup. Morgan was 2nd and 5th in the hunters over fences, and 7th on the flat. In the equitation, Morgan was 8th over fences and 2nd on the flat.
Michaella Duffy showed Caramel Crunch in Pre-Children's Hunters. Michaella was 1st and 2nd over fences, and 1st in the flat, winning the championship. Michaella and Theo were also the SRF Circuit Pre-Children's Reserve Champion! Michaella also showed in Hunter Pleasure Pony and was 8th, and was 6th in the Hunter Hack Pony. In the Children's Eq 2'-2'3", Michaella was 3rd in the flat, and 2nd and 6th over fences.
September 20-21 GMHA Fall & Hunter Finals
What a beautiful weekend to show at GMHA! The foliage was great and we had a fun time.
Michaella Duffy showed Caramel Crunch in Maiden Equitation U/S, placing 5th. In the Low Modifed Hunters, Michaella was 7th in the second over fences class out of 22. In the Children's Eq 2'-2'3", Michaella was 7th in the over fences and 3rd in the flat. In the Pre-Children's Hunters, Michaella was 2nd and 4th in the over fences. Michaella and Theo were 2nd in the Hunter Hack Pony and 6th in the Hunter Pleasure. In the 2'-2'3" VHJA Hunter Final, Michaella had two beautiful rounds, finishing 3rd.
Valerie Campbell showed Piaretta in Modified Adult Eq. She was 3rd in the over fences and 1st in the flat. Valerie also showed in the High Modified Hunters and was 2nd in the first over fences, 4th in the second over fences class, and 4th in the flat. In the Special Hunters, Valerie was 3rd in the second over fences class. In the 2'6" VHJA Hunter Final Valerie had two nice rounds and finished in 4th. Not bad for Pia having taken most of the year off to have a baby!
Caitlin Schrack showed Big Easy in the Modifed Adult Eq. She was 4th in the flat and 6th in the over fences. Caitiln also showed in the High Modified Hunters and was 7th in both over fences classes and 6th in the flat. In the Baby Green Hunters, Caitlin was 6th in the first over fences and 4th in the flat.
